Why?

There are so many reasons that brought us to homeschooling. We wanted a more hands on education for our boys, we wanted to let them move at their own pace. We wanted to guard their hearts and minds against the onslaught of bad influences whether it be moral, or theological. I suppose we just wanted more for them then a teacher with 25 plus kids can give to one child.
Another reason was family life. Their dad sometimes works weekend and nights so there have been times when a full week would go by with them barely seeing their father. We wanted to strengthen the family bonds between siblings, wanted them to grow up being each other's best friends. This is what we hope for!
We also had our fair share of bullying and to be honest sometimes it was my kid doing the bullying. We saw behaviours and attitudes that they were exposed to and then brought home which needed correction.
As I said there are many reasons and they just started adding up bringing us to make the decision. There have been adjustments for sure, balancing two school aged boys with a pretty demanding toddler makes me feel like a dancing monkey some days. And then there are days when you see your child's excitement about a concept mastered that you realize even dancing monkey's get a prize!

  1. You have your hands full, for sure! I'm sure it is a tremendous blessing to your kids and something they'll appreciate more when they look back in time and see what a great and giving Mama they had.
